Old Wood-New Wood

We made a planter box from our old deck wood.  The salvaged planks are gray and timeworn (like me).

Today, we used new wood to make our first lattice.

I like the contrast of old and new.

Beans, zucchini, sunflowers and chives.

I turn 60 in a few days.  I’ve never been a gardener.

So fun to try such things!

      1. Are you going to use the rest of that deck wood to make raised bed planters? The seminar last Saturday at the library was very good. They said you can grow 2 to 4 times more in a raised bed than you can in the same size garden plot.

      2. Funny. That wood has been repurposed. Heather made a compost bin and 3 or 4 raised beds out of it. Some of it might even have been incorporated into the Fort she built Lil this year. πŸ™‚
